This blog gathers opinions about and reactions to different aspects in the ongoing evolution of the Black World. The peoples of Africa and the African Diaspora share a common heritage but have distinct histories that have created unique journeys and identities across the Black world. Yet, there are similar patterns of oppression, revolution, successes and challenges on both sides of the Atlantic.
We want to remember the paths that Black people have taken since slavery and colonialism but we mostly want to dwell on the present. Focusing on politics, pop culture, and the arts, we will interrogate the contemporary issues facing the global black diaspora today.
